YOUR DEGREE

You'll receive your Associate Degree when you complete your program with an overall QPA of 2.0 or higher, with 50% of your credits through Penn Foster College, and when you fulfill your financial obligation.

Your Associate Degree is a symbol of your achievement and a key to your success. You will have the credentials you need for today's competitive job market.

THE GRADING SYSTEM

At the end of each study unit, you'll take an open-book exam. You can now take exams online, by phone, or by mail. As a degree candidate, you will also take a proctored exam at the end of each semester. Your examinations and projects will be graded on the following scale:

Penn Foster uses a number-letter system of grading, with number grades being assigned to examinations and letter grades to completed courses. The letter grade for each course is found by counting the average of the lesson examination grades as two-thirds of the course grade and the proctored examination grade as one-third. Letter grades are converted to quality points for the purpose of computing the Quality Point Average (QPA) for each semester and the cumulative Quality Point Average for more than one semester. Quality points range from 4.0 for an A grade to 0.0 for an F grade.

You must pass all courses and achieve a cumulative Quality Point Average (QPA) of 2.0 or higher in all studies to graduate and earn your Associate Degree.
